Shure e2c earphones - iPod earphone replacement/alternative for exercise/workout

As you can see from the previous post, I am in the earphone selection process. In my search, I am looking for earphones with quality sound production, sound isolation and secure fit (I don’t want my earphones falling out while I am on the treadmill).

This leads me to the Shure e2c earphones:

Here is a detailed response from Shure:
Question: I was wondering if the E2C Shure headphones would get ruined due to sweating. I want to use them for mountain biking and exercise.
Answer: Shure earphones have been used by professional performers on stage for several years. They are typically worn for hours at a time, and as you can imagine, the earphones are exposed to a lot of sweat. All of our earphones are tested in the presence of heat, humidity, and salt spray to make sure that they work in such a hostile environment. In extreme cases, excessive moisture in the earphone can cause a reduction in output level or a change in sound quality. After the earphone dries out (overnight for example), performance returns to normal. It is doubtful that you would notice any performance change during a typical one or two-hour workout. It is a good idea to wipe the earphones off with a towel or tissue after using them. If you use the foam sleeves, you may want to replace them a bit more frequently than normal — perhaps once a week. The plastic or silicone rubber sleeves do not absorb moisture, and can be used again and again. So in conclusion our earphone line will be fine with sweat. Our earphones came from musicians on stage where sweat was always a factor but the earphone needed to hold up so the show could still go on. If you do get a fair amount of moisture in the earphone there may be a drop in volume for a day. Let it dry out overnight and it almost always returns to normal. If it doesn’t. We carry a 2 year warranty and will replace it with a brand new one.

Note: These earphones are pricey. With that said, I try to never begrudge the money I spend on my personal care. I used to do this with shoes until I incurred foot problems because of it. Don’t let this happen to your ears are anything else valuable to you.
