You may know who Ryan Kwanten is if you watch True Blood. He plays the very fit character of Jason Stackhouse. Ryan is extremely defined. He is in incredibly shape.
Ryan's Physique Was Formed Outside of the Gym
Ryan Kwanten is a 32 year-old native of Australia and used to compete in Triathlons as well as boxing. Athletes appear to develop more of a beach body rather than the results they would get from only working out in a gym. Ryan boxed in the welterweight division from age 13 to 15 and won the state championship.
How Ryan Kwanten Spends His Time In Los Angeles
Now residing in LA, Ryan doesn't participate in Triathlons. He now mostly uses body weight exercises, such as pull ups, sit ups, and push ups, in his workouts. He also like to do intervals and jumps rope. Body weight work and intervals seems to be a recurring theme with men and women in Hollywood. While not competing in Triathlons, Ryan did participate in the biathlon between 2006 and 2007 in LA.
What He Does To Get Even More Cut For Shirtless Takes
Ryan eats a "paleo diet" based around protein and vegetables with few refined grains and carbs if he needs to get extra lean for a special scene. Before filming such a scene he will do this for 2 or 3 days. Reducing his carbohydrate intake stabilizes his insulin level. Stable insulin levels are the key to burning body fat around the clock, since when insulin is high the body cannot use fat for energy.
Using Natural Cardio to Accelerate Fat Burning
Ryan doesn't believe in using treadmills and exercise bikes for cardio. He prefers the random challenge on running on trails outdoors along with running on the beach. Variable resistance is a huge key which keeps his body guessing. This can boost the fat burning properties of the exercise.
So Ryan Kwanten's Workout seems to be based around a strict diet at times with interval training and a lot of body weight work. This "getting fit without going to a gym" seems to be a growing trend with many of the Actors and Actresses in Hollywood. But, Ryan has no set structure to his workout regiment. So making a good step by step list can be near impossible.
