Contrary to popular belief the best exercises for a flat tummy are not actually stomach exercises. So many people make this mistake, and then wonder why their tummy is not shifting.
Exercises that target your stomach will only result in making your stomach muscles stronger. Even though some stomach work is required, they are not the most effective exercises to lose tummy flab. This is something that a lot of people find difficult to grasp
You would normally do an exercise like the squat if you wanted to improve your legs. You do chest exercises for a better chest. It's a common asumption that if you want to lose stomach fat, you start doing stomach exercises. Sadly it does not work like this.
Stomach exercises target too small an area of the body, this means that only a few calories will be burned. This will not burn a lot of calories, you will just be giving your abs a workout. The best exercises to get a flat tummy will be cardio exercises, or any exercise routine that burns lots of calories.
Though you should continue doing tummy exercises a few times a week, you will need to add some cardio if you ever want to see your abs. The cardio exercise that you opt for will be one that you think you will be happy doing. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as calories are being burned. You can also choose to do different types of cardio on different days. This takes the boredom out of the equation.
Another great method is to do circuit training with light weights. This means picking a number of weight exercises, and moving from one to the other until all exercises are completed. This is a hard way of training, but keep in mind that it can be very productive.
There is no point in putting in lots of effort in your training, if you continue to eat rubbish food. You will be limiting your results. Eliminate all the rubbish that you may currently be eating. Change your diet so that you are eating more healthy foods. You help your body in this way, and your body will help you to get what you want. It's a fair trade.
Do not use your energies by targeting only the stomach area. Doing cardio exercises along with a variety of other exercises is going to get you your flat tummy a lot quicker.
