P90X Workouts – Burn That Fat

Why is losing weight and getting into shape so difficult? You'd think all a heavay guy would have to do to lose weight is eat a little bit less and "whamo" the weight would just start comoing off.As a guy that's strggled with his weight for the last 20 years I can tell you it's anything but simple.

My body has become de-sensitized over the years from all of the abuse I've given it  by not eating a healthy and balanced diet.I tried eating less and less, skipping breakfast and sometimes lunch. I know now what a mistake that was.

I tried eating smaller meals, but more often and that didn't seem to work.  I tried just playing racquetball for 2-3 hours a day and I gained weight doing that.  For the most part, everything I tried ended up causing me to gain weight.

I wanted to give up.I got to the point where I didn't believe I'd ever get rid of my weight problem.I swelled up to 308 pounds.  My feet hurt, my ankles hurt, my knees popped anytime I walked.

I was miserable.  I was always tired and extremely lethargic. My attitude was pathetic as well.I was looking for a "magic pill" or "fad diet" that would give me instant results with little or no effort.  I was in full blown denial.

I saw my first Tony Horton P90X infomercial about 7 months ago.Tony's attitude is contagious and it reminded me about how I used to feel when I was fit back in college, working out all the time.

I used to live to lift weights and play racquetball.I was in the gym 3-4 hours everyday.  I had about 6% body fat and weighed in at 165 lbs.  I had abs of steel and a 6 pack that was to die for, just ask my wife.

Physically, I let myself go and lost my positive outlook and good attitude also.the light bulb over my head switched on.I used to work out simply becuase I enjoyed it, staying in shape was just a side benefit at the time.

Once I got heavy it became this life or death struggle and my attitude about the whole physical fitness thing just dried up along with any real hopes I had for getting back in shape.

After watching that infomercial I decided to get P90X and give it a try.  I was in dreadful shape and I couldn't keep up at all with what was going on.I was completely out of breath and my knees were killing me.

I finished the first workout and was so wiped out that I waited at least one more month before I did the 2nd one.  I did better the 2nd time around, probably because I knew what to expect and I got myself psyched up about it.

Even though I did better with each successive attempt, I never stuck with the workouts long enought to see any difference.I was too lazy for my I own good. I never gave it a fair shot. So, in the beginning of May I decided to make a real commitment the P90X system and give it a fair chance.

That was just over 2 months ago.  I now weigh 268 and I can keep up with 90X.Now that I've strengthened all their supporting muscle groups, my joints feel better too.I can actually run now without any pain.

My knees were so bad that even the jumping jacks were impossible at first.I still have a ways to go before I reach my target goal of 210, but I know that I'll reach it in the not so distant future.

Working out has become fun again and now that I've stuck with the program for a couple months, the results have become obvious.  I am getting a lot stronger and my muscles are showing back up.I have plenty of energy and my body aches are a thing of the past.My attitude has taken a complete turn for the better and it's made a difference in every part of my life.

P90X is now my "magic pill" even though it's not magic and it's not a pill.It is quite simply hard work.  Nothing easy about it.There aren't any quick fixes when it comes to fitness.Do the work first and the results will follow.

I gained 8 pounds initially when i started with this program and it was a little discouraging to say the least, but i stuck with it and made my way through that stage to the next stage where I started to lose weight in a big way.

If you're overweight and struggling to find answers, you might want to give P90X a try.  If you think it's too strenuous a workout you might consider the Power 90 workout which is a bit less intense. The Beachbody Store has a bunch of different exercise DVD's to choose from.

Just make sure you talk to your physician about what you are doing before you start the workouts.
