How to Exercise without Wasting Your Time
I've told you some ways to avoid making dumb mistakes in your workout already: here are some more. These are ways to avoid wasting your time, getting hurt, and making a butt out of yourself.
1. Emphasizing single joint machine exercises. You are on the road to injury when you work out muscles in isolation on all that cool equipment. This may not be on every weight loss forum.
What you really want is to work multiple muscle groups together: this will avoid injury and burn more fat. You'll do better with free weights and body weight exercises like squats and lunges.
2. A disengaged mind. This is a lot like the people who don't plan their workouts for effectiveness. A disengaged mind has a lot of power that is not used. If you spend some time visualizing the exercises you are doing as well as the body you want to have, your mind will help lead you there.
The patterns created in your mind by mentally rehearsing your workout are much the same as the patterns experienced when you are actuially working out. By engaging your mind you can build better habits and better performances. This helps discipline your mind to reach your goals.
From movie stars to professional athletes, mental visualization has helped many attain high levels of success. Is this really how to lose weight fast? If you don't do this too, you are making a big mistake.
3. No after workout meal. The meal after exercising is very important, you lose so much if you make the boneheaded mistake of missing it.
You should eat carbs and protein when your done exercising to help rebuild your muscle tissue and energy level.
4. Allowing others to determine your feelings of success. Because you are one of a kind, apply what the professionals suggest by avoiding comparisons with others. You can do six pack ab exercises if you want to.
The key is to always improve over what you were before rather than getting hung up on other people's results.
5. Excuses. You'll always find people blaming everything and evveryone for their faliures.
The key is to realize that this is your body and your opportunity: make the most of it because if you don't it's all your fault.
