How to Build an Acne Diet
An acne diet is certainly an appealing idea. Who hasn't heard that eating chocolate may make you break out. Everybody has. So instead of causing a break out, you could prevent it by watching what you eat.
But, an acne diet is a very hard thing to establish. Its very personal because it has to be based on an individuals responses to food. There are rules to follow, but progress is usually by trial and error. Make sure you are keeping an eye on your skin. Make note of any changes. You could even take pictures a few times a week. If and when your skin clears, stick to the diet that you were using at that time.
Here are some guidelines to get you started on an acne diet:
* Take in a lot more protein - Some dermatologists even believe that protein intake is connected to having clear skin. The reason for this belief is because protein has an enzyme that will limit the production of oils. If you have oily skin, you know that it is very vulnerable to breakouts.
* Stay away from carbohydrates. - Don't cut yourself off completely. But you should keep them limited to about 40 percent of your diet. Carbohydrates contain compounds that stimulate oil production. This is the reason that junk food has the reputation that it causes acne. In reality, junk food is high in carbs.
* Drinking green tea is very good for you - Drinking the real stuff is the best. The best type of green tea is the kind you brew at home. But, if you really don't like it, the natural green tea drinks will work. Androgen production will be limited when you drink green tea. Breakouts can be caused by the hormone called androgen.
* 4. Limit your salt intake - Iodine is usually found in salt. Which is why table salt is sometimes called “iodized salt.” Iodine is a major inflammatory agent in those with acne.
While watching what you eat, you should also be very careful with what you put on your face. If you have acne you are probably already more aware than most people of the ingredients in your beauty products. Those who are prone to acne should look for oil free moisturizers. These products will least likely cause you to breakout. Consider switching over to mineral makeup. By using mineral makeup you may actually ease acne problems and increase the results of your acne diet.
