ER6i Isolator earphones from Etymotic Research

Workout Equipment

I purchased a pair of these ER6i isolator earphones.
I think they are very good. I was hesitant at first because of how deep into your ear canal they reach; however, that hesitation was un-warranted. They fit wonderfully! I purchased them because I was having an almost impossible time hearing my audio through my factory Ipod earphones in very noisy environments. With the ER6i earphones, I have no problem hearing my audiobooks. Even when I am running my lawnmower, I hear my audios very clear. The ER6i isolator earphones have good frequency response also. I heard a lot of clipping in my factory IPod earphones but the ER6i can handle it.

Shure e2c earphones - iPod earphone replacement/alternative for exercise/workout

Uncategorized, Workout Equipment

As you can see from the previous post, I am in the earphone selection process. In my search, I am looking for earphones with quality sound production, sound isolation and secure fit (I don’t want my earphones falling out while I am on the treadmill).

Looking for some iPod earphone replacements for your workouts?

Workout Equipment

I don’t know about you but I have a lot of trouble with my Ipod earphones during workouts. Grabbing them as they fall out while I am on the treadmill is just no fun!

Here are some in-ear earphones (sounds redundant doesn’t it?) from Etymotic Research, the ER-6i Isolator earphones, that should take care of that problem. Here is a little note from the editor of Pod Mania: “These are definitely pricey for your average workout but I have to say they are comfortable, have great sound and will never fall out while you’re doing your crazy hand jive.” Well, I’ve learned never to grouse about the money I spend on myself to minimize stress or develop personally.

I put my weight loss vehicle in “park” again!

Uncategorized

Over the last 6 months, I have battled with will power once again. During the Winter months, I began visiting the local Popeye’s chicken, Wendy’s and McDonald’s once again. My weight steadily increased up to 327 pounds! Progress lost once more! As of the first week in March 2007, I have refocus my efforts and put myself back on a lower calorie, lower fat diet. I am now eating between 1500 to 2500 calories a day. Since March 1st, I have successfully dropped the weight to 314.

My biggest reality that I must come to grips with: “I must make lower calorie eating a lifestyle if I want to lose the weight and keep it off. ” It is clear to me that I gain weight very easily and I must become vigilant or suffer the consequences.

Blood pressure, weight and exercise

Uncategorized

Well, it has been a while since I last wrote. As I promised, let’s talk about my blood pressure now vs December 2005.

In December 2005, my blood pressure was 160/91. Ooowee! That’s nice and high! Within 10 months of exercise, my blood pressure dropped to 134/72 in October 2006. It was a combination of consistent 6 day exercise weeks and diet changes. I lost 45 pounds during that period of time.

After that, my weight loss went into “park” due to the reasons discussed in my September 2006 blog entry.
